Two reasons:
1. Allowing idiocy and hate to go unchecked is just as bad as advocating it.

2. There could be someone out there seeking an answer to that very question. We would be remiss if we didn't answer it.

It gives us a chance to show how loving and tolerant _we_ are, of course! Also, it does keep others from arguing that since nobody refuted X's statement, it must be true.

Evangelization.

Sometimes, the ones that seem so far from hearing the Gospel are the ones who are actually the closest. Their idols are letting them down and it's upsetting. Seeing others in trials, and still moving forward makes them want to know how Jesus makes us "tick."

IT IS MORE OF A STATEMENT AT THAT POINT DONT YOU THINK. I MEAN LOOK AT IT FROM A PSYCHOLOGICAL STANDPOINT....DO THEY REALLY CARE IF GAYS LOVE STRAIGHTS, OR BLACKS CALL US HONKY, OR WHATEVER OTHER STUPID CRUD THEY BLURT IN THE FORM OF A QUESTION. THEY R JUST VENTING AT OTHERS EXPENSE AND OFTEN DONT CARE WHO ANSWERS JUST WHO SEES IT. AND MAYBE HOPING FOR A HUGE DEBATE ENDING IN A BLASTING FUED SO ONCE AGAIN THEY CAN VENT.
