Blackberry Sage Tea, Peppermint Tea...both help. Bananas (Potassium) helps.Ginkgo Baloba. Ginkgo Baloba is expensive, if it is quality, but it does help with memory loss and retention.
Also, I would start taking a high octaine multivitamin...like Alive Multivitamins. They usually help with all around functioning. Maybe your memory loss is a nutritional deficiency, which Alive will fix.

Small solution - to remember things better, tell yourself Remember to stop at the store, instead of Don't forget - because your brain will keep the last word "forget" in your memory and you will forget it. If you say to yourself, remember to do this - you'll remember it because that's the last word in your mind.
Also, write yourself notes, eat healthy, get plenty of sleep, and believe it or not - DRINK LOTS OF WATER... Dehydration can occur not just to the extreme like most people think. If you don't drink enough water, your body can't perform its functions to its highest ability.
