It could be hemmorhoids, but it's always safer to get checked by a doctor. It also it could be a tumor, so get checked by a doctor, it's better to be safe than sorry. Best of luck to you.

if you have pain: external hemorrhoids
Painless:
1. internal hemorrhoids
2. pockets in the colon (diverticula) more common in age over ~ 60

The most common is hemorroids if it's only associated with a bowel movement. Blood from diverticula occurs even between bowel movements.

If it's fresh blood it's either from a hemorrhoid or a broken vessel. If it's intertwined inside the movement (but not just at the end), it could be much more serious - like cancer or an ulcer.

Was it streaked on the outside of the bowel and mixed with the water or was it mixed in with the Bowel ? these are the major questions which need to be addressed.

Could be hemmerhiods. I had that and my doc sent me for a colonoscopy. The test wasn't fun, but it wasn't bad. It showed nothing-good luck!
