(Sometimes I am under the impression tht it might seem a bit incomprehensive to non-muslims,but that is me)

The verses that be quoted by Muslims would need further research because it isnt easy trying to convey the message into english from arabic. These quotes are not translations but an interperation of the Quran.

Sometimes I think they must have magical eyeglasses they wear when they read the quran that changes the words or something. Especially when they're talking about the "scientific miracles" in the quran. They'll show a verse and then tell you it means the EXACT OPPOSITE of what is actually written, or sometimes just something completely unrelated.
For example, look at this, talking about the moon:
" It is the star that pierces through darkness! (Qur'an, 86:3)
We now know that the Moon does not emit its own light but reflects that reaching it from the Sun. We also know that the Sun and stars do emit their own light. These facts were revealed in the Qur'an in an age when mankind simply did not have the means to make scientific discoveries of their own accord. It was an age when peoples' knowledge of celestial bodies was severely restricted, to say the least. This further emphasises the miraculous nature of the book of Islam."
Again, for clarity:
"It is the star that pierces through darkness!"
"We now know that the Moon does not emit its own light...We also know that the Sun and stars do emit their own light...These facts were revealed in the Qur'an"
What... the... $*%^? The quran JUST said the moon is a star, and here is someone saying that it's telling us the moon is not a star. What the !*@^ are they reading?! It's certianly not the same thing I am.

Even literate Arabs don't understand the Quran...it must be translated by a Cleric who mostly have their personal interpretation.

The person quoting doesn't usually seem to comprehend what it actually says. I don't see why anyone would quote something they don't even understand.
