neither are allowed. some people might consider it worse for a jewish man to intermarry because his kids will not be jews. some people might consider it worse for a jewish woman to intermarry, because her kids will be jews but have a high chance of being "lost" to judaism. but either way, its not supposed to be done.

"most Jews do not like mixing the races. They along with others want a pure race. I respect that."

its not about race. its about the survival of the jewish religion. statistics show that about three quarters of kids born to intermarried parents are not raised jewish. sociologists predict that in about a hundred years the only jews who will continue to exist in north america are the orthodox, because of the high rate of intermarriage amongst non-orthodox jews. the orthodox are the smallest branch of judaism, and there are already very few jews left in the world today. judaism simply can't afford to lose any more.

There is no difference between a Jewish man and a Jewish woman marrying outside of their faith. Both are considered to be "intermarried."

However, if they have children with a spouse of another religion, then there's a difference. Judiasm is a matrilineal religion. That means that according to Jewish law, the religion follows the maternal bloodline. Therefore, the children of a Jewish mother and non-Jewish father would be considered Jewish while the children of a Jewish father and non-Jewish mother would not be.

By Jewish Law, a Jew is not permitted to marry a non-Jew. If one does, there are more complications for a Jewish woman because her children will still be Jews. This is a 3300 year old problem.

In the case of the children of Jewish men and non-Jewish women, the child is considered a non-Jew by jewish Law. That position was universally held until 1975 when the Reform movement decided to include such children as Jews to increase the declining numbers in their congregations. The tragedy here is when such person matures, becomes more observant only to find out when they are about to marry that they are not a Jew after all. It is completely devasting to these individuals and an exercise in extreme cruelty perpertrated by their parents and the Reform movement.
