I just want your opinions based on looks... not temperment (sp?) or anything else.
The cutest dogs in my opinion are Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Neopolitan Mastiffs, and Great Danes
The ugliest dogs in my opinion (sorry if you own one, nothing personal) are:Bichon Frise, Maltese, Yorkie, Poodle, Shih Tzu.

I am a huge fan of the Pit Bull, but are the cute? NO! Cool looking yes! I once saw a little dog they were calling a Doodle. It was a cross between a Toy Poodle and Daschund. (sorry about the spelling) The ugliest just might be the Irish Wolfhound.

First off I'd like to say that my reply is not meaning to offend anyone! It's just my personal opinion.
From doing research on dogs, I now think of unnatural dogs as being 'ugly'. Unnatural traits include floppy ears, an extremely short coat, exaggerated long backs, short muzzles (whether boxy and short or pushed right into the face -- these cause many health problems), sagging jowels, extra loose skin, and extra blocky builds.
Dogs that I find attractive are dogs with more natural physical traits that make them more sturdy and healthy. Some natural traits include a medium size, a thick, medium-length coat, upright ears, and a long muzzle. Some good examples of these are Siberian huskies and Australian cattle dogs.

Ugliest is the Chinese Crested - those hideous skinny hairless dogs with mohawks. Cutest is the Bermese Mountain Dog (as a puppy).

By far the ugliest dog breed are those Chinese Crested dogs!!
As far as cute dogs go, I really like Boston Terriers and Pugs. I love the squished in face look. So adorable :)

I used to think all the little lap dogs...that is until I got my baby "Biscuit" he is a yellow lab and he is beautiful.
I think that those "sheep dogs" not sure what they are called...but anyway they are so cute too.
I think the ugliest has to be poodles. They look fake. And for heavens sake let them have fur. When they show those dogs and have all that hair shaved it is horrible. I think the standards are the ugliest of them all.

i'm no longer able to think of of a single gruesome dogs breed, mutt or otherwise. there is not any longer an unsightly factor bearing directly to the main devoted creature in the international, neither is there something extra astounding than a dogs who's actual features help it do a activity that mankind completely fails at. nevertheless bodily, i'm no longer top to canines that require braiding or dreading.

Cutest - any of the bull breeds - bullmastiff, mastiff, neopolitan mastiff, english bulldog, french bulldog, victorian bulldog, bull terrier, etc. Also, border collies and australian shepherds

I loooooooove English Bulldogs! I also like, Pugs, Sharpays, Dachsunds, Pomeranians, Collies. I have giant dogs and whatever the name of that dog is where it is cover in cords of hair to wher youcan't see its face and the one that sounds life a type of blanket and id covered in lots of hair, great danes are ugly too, anything that cannot stop the vast over production of drool!

I think we have very different opinions. I've always thought pit bulls were ugly...and it doesn't help to see that they are often responsible for violence reported in the news. But I've never owned a pit bull.
Shelties are definitely one of the cutest.

Cutest: terrier, Lhasa Apso, Shih Tzu, Westie, Maltise, Poodle, Grey Hounds, Alaskian Malamutes and Huskies. (And many many many more)
Ugliest: I don't love the way Pti Bulls and Rottweilers look. But I would never call them ugly. No dogs are ugly.
