I am 17 and the girl is 16. We met on one of my old RP sites and we have recently started writing to each other. What I want to know is would a long term relationship actually work? I have 'gone out' with her before but we stopped because it was unfair on each other, being that we couldn't see each other. She is intending to come over here to the UK to visit soon. What do you think?

If you two can see eachother often and can KEEP 100% trust in eachother, then it has a chance, but the first sign of mistrust and its over.

It really is not worth it unless one of you will be moving to the other within a year or less..
From experiance I can tell you a prolonged long distance relationship is not worth it at all.
You will see each other, fall for each other. then have your euphoria filled heart ripped out of your chest. over and over again.
After a few times it gets old. Unless you are majorly masochistic, be just friends, talk to each other rarely, date other people.

maybe things will become different in a few years and one of the two can move out to the other.
untill then you are asking for pain and suffering.

It's tough. I've been in one and it just don't work out. You've got to be able to see each other, hold each other, all that stuff on a regular basis for the relationship to grow. Your both so young, I'd say stay Friends, pen pals if you like, but give each other space to see other people.

Honestly, a long distance relationship does not work. You need to get involved with someone that lives near you. Someone that you can spend time with and talk to.

I've been in a long distance relationship for about a year. It has been working for me and my bf...but you two are too young. I don't think it'll work for you. My advise to you is to find someone who lives closer to you.

You two might work out but I dont think so because you are so young. If you were in your 20s then that would be different.

Personally, I don't have much faith in these type of relationships.
