I assumed you would just spank her in order to get her to do what you want. But I guess lying to her would also work.

My question is why are you pushing to get her to bed early? Did you not get some presents wrapped?
My son will be 3 in 9 days and he will be going to bed at 7:30 p.m. like always. The only difference is he will be sitting out carrot sticks for the "reindeer" and milk and a granola bar (Santa...I mean Hubby like to eat healthy).
As for the comment about India and China. Grow up. That was not necessary and not true. Why don't you look at all countries, minus a few Eurpean countries, and see every country as grown this year. Shame on you.

Sounds great and since your girl is so little she probably won't know but china and india's religions are not really christmas. Tell her that Santa is going to be at a larger city in America. (And make sure that it is a somewhat christian city!) But just to be honest I would obey my parents wishes and go to bed but, I never went to sleep I would stay awake lieing in my bed just thinking of what I got that year... Good Luck though! Happy holidays!!!

I dont make them go to bed early. It's Christmas eve! After they do go to bed, I put the presents under the tree.

We just always told my son - 'Santa won't come until you are fast asleep. He KNOWS if you are really sleeping or just faking it - so you better go to sleep or he'll never come to the house'. That pretty much did - my son normally was beggin us to put him to bed on Christmas eve...and he always went to sleep - lol.

I did this last year for my 5 yr old. I showed him a web site that tracked Santa."When Santa entered U.S. airspace,it's time for bed, cause he'll pass over our house if he knows your awake". It worked like a charm.
Here's the site...
http://www.noradsanta.org/index.php
there's some music and games on there too.

Do you tell your children that it's China and India's fault there are so many children?! After all, they aren't a majority Christian and Santa doesn't visit them. :-P
More likely to tell them there are too many selfish American's who want more presents than anyone else.
I tell my kids the truth, that mommy's tired, and if we want to have a pleasant Christmas day, we need to go to bed early.

Yeah it should work! I thought all parents used this, I know mine did. Except they would say that Santa will not come if he sees you awake, or if he comes down the chimney and you are up, no presents!

sounds great to me, just remember the sooner they go to bed, the earlier they wake up. I know, I used to be one who woke up at 4 am and would begg my mom to get up.
