Since his name was Joshua, or Yeshua, a popular folk hero in Judaism, not the Greek "Jesus", I suspect there were hundreds and even thousands running around with that name. Just like there are thousands of guys named "Jesus" today in Southern California.

Ofcourse the name "Jesus", was not the real spelling nor pronuciation, but I am sure that it was a very common name.

I don't know but there is one walking around my house right now. He's from Laredo, TX and he is 3rd generation Mexican/American.
