Im overweight, but not extremely overweight. Im a size 16 and currently exercising regularly and eating a balanced to lose weight for my sisters wedding in july 2007. I can't seem to get the attention of guys. I feel its my size that is the problem. Do most men judge women by their outer appearance. Im not ugly, just slightly out of shape

It has nothing to do with size, but attitude! When you feel good about yourself, you radiate self-confidence which attracts the guys! I'm a size 16 myself, and before I was married (14 years ago) I never lacked for male companionship (and NO I didn't sleep around). SHINE, and they will come!

First of all, the way you look isn't necessarily what catches a guys attention. At least, not the kind of guys most women "claim" to want.

The way you publiclyy express self-confidence goes quite a ways towards standing out in a crowd. It doesn't necessarily have to be confidence about the way you look either. It could be the values you uphold, or even something that you have done and feel proud about.

FYI, hanging out in a bar doesn't say much regarding self-confidence. Not that I'm implying you do...

Which leads to my second point, perhaps you are looking for the wrong types of guys, or in the wrong places. Many guys are only out looking for women who seem easy because they aren't interested in a commitment. They just want what you have to offer.

Make sure that you are trying to appeal to the type of guys you actually want. And therefore, are looking in places where that type of guy goes to.

Don't simply try to get the attention of every "good looking" guy. You won't be the only who's noticed and chances are, he's taking advantage of that fact.

Plenty of us guys have the same problem. Women don't notice us. Why? Because we aren't making ourselves noticeable, or we are trying to appeal to the wrong type of woman. This tends to cause us not to notice those women who are showing interest in us.

See what I'm getting at? Keep your eyes open and make sure to mingle. You'll find someone.

It matter a great deal to me. If my wifes size changed dramtically there would be big problems. However, if you look around the world, watch couples walking about, you will clearly see that there is someone for everyone. Some guys love skinny chicks, some love average chick, some love big chicks.

Wanna know what will get you the attention you want? Your attitude. You have to be the highlight of the party. When you walk into a room, everyone should know it by the smiles and laughter you bring. Attitude, its all about attitude.

Yes, many men judge women solely on their appearance. Fortunately there are men out there that like larger women. You will meet one, don't worry about changing yourself for them. If you want to loose weight do it for you and your health, don't let a man dictate how you feel or do with your body. My husband likes me when i put on some extra weight. When i was pregnant with my son i gained 55lbs and he could not keep his hands off of me. It was great because i did not feel pressured to loose the weight fast. On the other hand, i will not stay heavy because he likes it. I didn't like the weight on me so i did loose it fast and he just has to love me the way i am. You should look at your relationships with men the same way.

I am not saying its right, or proper,...but yeah, I think the first thing ANYONE notices is the physical appearence, something has to "catch your eye". Now it gets tricky,...its up to the likes and dislikes of the people involved. I think most men have an ideal shape or form that they like in a potental mate and that tends to run from average to fit,...maybe its a primal thing?...like those traits seem to denote "health" so that would make that body style more perferable.

yes, yes,...I know whats
on the inside counts",...but something has to attract you to that person in order to find that out

Actually some guys....like myself like gals with curves. My wife is about a size 20 I think (she'll kill me if she reads this) but she's also tall and very beautiful. HWP (Height, Weight, Proportions) is a matter of taste. Personality is key though!

I think everyone is just telling you what you want to hear. . . .

I was that size for many years and got little attention as well. I had to lose 30 pounds before anyone would notice me.
Guys are all about physical apperance. They want all their women size 2's with huge boobs.

No, you're not that overweight!

Carry on with your diet and exercise, but work on your self esteem and confidence too.

You'll soon enough find a guy, just make sure he's worthy of you!

Yes they do, and you know it. The world is very visual and males especially. Is it shallow? Absolutely! But that does not help you. Their is a guy for you though so don't fret. The key is to become happy with yourself and realize that you do not need someone to complete you. Good luck.
