This may be shallow of me but I really have to be attracted to someone I'm dating. I knew a guy and loved his personality but was not attracted to him one tiny bit. I tried to make myself see the inner beauty but it didn't work. I feel bad but it isn't bad to want a spouse that i can connect emotionally and think he's good looking. Total cliche answer but I want both. but keep in mind, that at the end of the day I really want a guy that is intelligent...he just has to be decent looking. I'm not looking for a model, just someone with passing looks.

Honestly? Both. I mean, you see the attractive, but dumb, guys with girls and you see the less-attractive, more intelligent guys with them too. Really, what attracts more women is YOU. Be yourself. Don't try to hard to show that you are intelligent or good looking, just show her who you are. A mixture of both never hurts, but overall, it's you she's interested in, not your brain or your body.
