No special favorites but I would never refuse a Porchuttio sandwich on crusty italian bread, with fontina cheese, roasted red peppers, tomato and vinegar and oil dressing with a touch of oregano, salt and pepper

When I was a kid (a long time ago), my mama use to make us luncheon meat and potato salad sandwiches! They were great and are a New Orleans favorite cause everyone has potato salad hanging around in the frig. That's potato salad made the N.O. way (no apples or junk like that). We loved them! Godloveya.

Try different artisan breads. Super Wal-Mart carries a roasted garlic Italian bread that makes the BEST grilled ham & cheese sandwich (cheddar and American, of course!).
