My friend has a chronic disease which causes him a lot of pain and he has to take tablets every day The disease affects his bones and he may end up bent or disabled Also he carries genes for this and there is a 1 in 5 chance that a child of his would inherit it, He has a fairly new gf and has asked me not to mention his pains. When should he tell her about all this?

He should tell her the moment he decides he wants more than casual dating, but if he/she are considering pursuing a more serious relationship. If not, his gf could dump him not for his disease, but for his dishonesty.

The mere fact of life and hiding it's pain is reason enough to not want a computer, in now or the future. The utmost respect for the man that created tablets.

He should tell her straight away and if she is half decent she will be sympathetic.
He should also tell her before he falls in love with her as it would be more painful if she left him because of this problem.
It would not be fair to tell her when she is so into him that she looses all sensiblity.
This may not worry some people but it would others, it just depends on the person he is with.

He should've been honest from the very beginning because that way she will have the option of pursuing the relationship or not. If he waits late in the game to tell her he may end up losing her and not being able to find anyone else.

When he feels ready. I'm sure he's just waiting to see if she's the kind of girl who will stick around through the thick and thin. It's up to him though. This really doesn't concern you at all. Just be there for him and support whatever decision he makes.

mr roy jones.....YOU are the reason against computers. why leave nasty responses all over the place if you are so against computers? handle your own pain and the reason you lash out at innocent people

as for the friend with the disease, he should tell her soon before she develops feelings and has to be hurt

I think he should tell her now before the relationship gets too serious and he tell her and then she breaks ups with him. If she is a good gf she would stay with him no matter what is wrong with him.

Is it something he tells everyone he dates? If not, I don't think he should tell her unless things start to get serious or it in some way starts to affect the relationship.

Stay out of it and let him do it in his own time. He will know when the time is right. It's his responsibility to tell her, not yours.
