I know we do, it is a feeling that is indescribable, that is why it is so difficult to find research or books on the Holy Spirit. Feelings are subjective and therefore difficult to measure or prove. It is something that moves within you, like when you see your baby for the first moment after he is born or you finally realize what your purpose is in life is or what is really important.

It's a good question and one worth pondering, I think.

I don't think it's not so much that we have a spirit, rather that we are a spirit. I believe that our true identities are spiritual, that we are all spiritual beings. Our bodies are only temporary shells that 'house' our spirits for our brief stay on earth.

As for 'feeling' our spirits, I believe that we do not notice our own spirits so much, because they are so familiar to us, we just get used to having them around. It's a bit like our eyesights, we all see things differently with our various defects etc. but if we suddenly had someone else's eyesight we would immediately notice the difference.

I also believe that we can all be effected to varying degree's by other peoples spirits or simply other spirits, and often recognise these influences as feelings. If we are honest with ourselves then I think we can all identify with this to some extent. When we start to recognise these things about ourselves we start also to understand that these things are not as mysterious as we once thought.

But here's the important bit. If then, one excepts that spiritually we can be influenced, then we must also recognise that these influences can be both positive and negative, good and evil.

I do not claim that any of the above is scriptural, it is merely how my spirit 'feels' about this subject. But as a born again Christian I can say without any fear of error, that when I gave my life to Christ, I was made a new person by the power of God's Holy Spirit. At that moment and at no other time before, have I ever 'felt' the purity of being cleansed from within, true forgiveness as only God can forgive. Sadly it is true also that I have never quite 'felt' the same since, but instead I continue to experienced the tranforming hand of God on my life.

So I will never cease to praise His Holy name, to seek His face and to follow His Son, our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus for all eternity. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

I have felt the Holy Spirit move in me. I have felt God's conviction and God's beauty- It is hard to explain- But I have also felt the Joy of the Lord many times- through the Holy Spirit.

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Yes. When God mutated us from regular hominids that lived before Adam, he gave us that potential to have and know the spirit that lives in all his children. Later, Jesus would send the holy spirit to witness to our spirits.

And, I will give you the short version of how to prove it to yourself both mentally and physically.

2. Be honest. - It’s ok to be suspicious. Pure science is the search for truth. It’s ok to question God.
3. Say, "God, if you do exist? I want to give you the chance to prove it to me, in the way you want to prove it. I understand that your method of proof is different from what I am accustomed to. I understand that your method is to physically send the "Holy Spirit" to me".

"So, here goes:

4. "God, I have denied your existence ... even when I had no proof that you didn't exist."
5. (Be redundant, it’s good for your soul.) "I have denied your existence because I had no proof you existed."
6. "I have made mistakes and, at times, I have felt an emptiness in my life."
7. " I was just wondering ... would you please send me your proof; "The Holy Spirit" to touch my mind, my heart, and my body. I want the "Holy Spirit" to witness to me and to prove to me that "You created the heaven and earth. I want the "Holy Spirit" to witness to me that through your son Jesus I can be assured of life after death."
8. Read John 3:16 (Cited in footnotes below)
9. "Amen" (Which means "so be it".)
(These feelings can be a little scary in that they are strong and somewhat overwhelming. You might feel you will surely die if you get too much of this pleasure.)
Repeato: Now that you know. I am not sure what you should do next. You might get in the habit of praying with God and ask him what to do. The Bible has over 700,000 words on the subject.

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son; that whosoever believeth in him, shall not perish (die) but have everlasting life."- (Amen)

Warning: Do not let anyone interfere with your relationship with God, his Holy Spirit, or the teachings of Jesus. Specifically, be aware of these distractions; priests, clergymen, church buildings, church members, and Bible salesmen.
