The sheriff in Charlotte, NC is now reviewing all immigrant inmates in his jail to see if they are actually in the U.S. legally before they are released. So far, they have caught over 450 inmates that were about to be released for one reason or another, but now they are being deported to their home countries. I think it's a great idea, and this is one way to spread the word about it. Do you think it would work in your hometown?

Before anyone accuses me of it, I'm not "anti" immigrant, I'm anti-illegal.

I think all the jails and prisons should do that. It would be a good, though slow, start to help the situation.

WOW that's a great idea! I think illegal immigrants that have committed crimes should be deported. I'm torn between the immigration topic as I myself am an immigrant (not illegal) but the resourses are being drained and schools overpopulated. Imigrants sure do work hard though. They are people who work for what they believe.

i think its a wonderful idea..... we cant afford to keep up with our homeless and pay our social security but some how were paying to keep illegal immigrants in out nation.... i dont see how that works.. and im all about bringing in new people and giving them a home untill they go a work the system and basically screw our elderly and treat our nation like crap cuz they think it would be funny... so if they are legal and have a job and pay their bills they i think they should be able to stay... milking the system is wrong and those who do it should be penalized and sent to jail or deported back to their home country...

Now, I'm one of the biggest pro-immigrants and I support this idea. However people needs to know that criminals and illegals are not the same people, even the government increased crossing illegally from misdemeanor to a felony.

I think it's a great idea. Better idea is building a fence 300 feet tall, because after Mexicans get deported, they just come back.

Great idea, but wait until the ACLU gets wind of it. They will sue on behalf of the illegal immigrants.

We need more like him, all across America. We need to clean up this mess now. And about the cost of deportation, it will cost a lot more to let them stay here.
