The key to preparing any type of venison is marinating it to prevent that "gamey" taste.
My husbands top secret (well not anymore) marinade is french dressing and soy sauce. I know it sounds weird but it is very good. You need to marinate at least 24 hours before cooking. On the grill is best for venison. Be careful not to overcook.

Deer steaks are leaner and cook quicker than beef of the same name and lend themselves well to wine and fruit marinades and sauces. Tips are excellent for stews and chili's, Butterfly chops can be marinated and grilled or filled and roasted, round steak is great for simple preparation with root vegetables and slow cooked for best flavor. There are many recipes on line but modifying your favorite steak recipes works too. I like to use pounded round steak to make what my mom called "Swiss rolls" (PAUPETTES) a method of pounding the meat gently to about 1/8 in thick, spread with filling either stuffing type, cheeses or fruit, then roll and tie as you would a roast, braise on all sides - remove to a roasting pan and cover with sauce of choice then cook at 325 for 45 minutes - let rest for 10 minutes - remove string cut into rings and serve with potatoes and a nice salad for a beautiful meal.

Wrap them in bacon slices, marinate in Worcestershire and Italian Dressing and Bake or Grill. The bacon adds a great flavor and keep them from drying out so quickly. May need a toothpick to hold bacon on until they're finished cooking. All of them can be prepared this way.

They're different cuts.

I haven't had venison sirloin tips, but usually what I do with beef sirloin tips is rub them with garlic salt and then grill them.
