If you found the listing online yes you may send a general thanks for interview online. However if you really really want that job... ALSO send something by land mail preferable with reverence to some comment interviewer made - ie suggestion or comment they made.

You don't have to necessarily have to send it via email. You may want to see if you can find out does this person that you're interviewing with prefers getting emails or regular mail. On the norm you'd send it by mail within 24 hours of the interview however if time is of the essence then you'd send it by email. If this is a job that you really want you want to keep your interview and face in that persons mind. Be sure that you touch on things that were discussed in the interview. This is your time to remind that person briefly of you and your skills and how you'd be an asset to the company. Good luck on your interview and if this is a job you really want I hope you get it.

Yes, if the interview is in person or over the phone, always send out a thank you after each interview.
