2 Corinthians 6:14:

"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"

I'm not Christian, but on a practical level, I think couples should at least be able to reconcile their differing beliefs, especially when one is exclusive like Christianity or Islam. (Exclusive meaning that they think it's the only right religion.)

It's saying that Christians SHOULD only marry Christians (and of the same maturity level). It's so that you don't end up on the wrong side of the 50% divorce statistic.... and so that your marriage will be happy, and your children will be raised well. Look at all the women who have trouble getting their kids to go to church. If they were married to a man who goes to church it would be normal for the kids to go.

1 Cor. 7:39 says: "A wife is bound during all the time her husband is alive. But if her husband should fall asleep in death, she is free to be married to whom she wants, only in the Lord."
