As far as America is concerned, the war period is 1345 days which started on 12/7/1941 (attack on Pearl Harbor) and ended on 8/14/1945 (Japan surrenders).

For other countries, the number of days would be different.

Too many days... There should not have been a World War.... the next time the Government wants a war.... they should have to fight on the front lines.... I bet they would be prepared to find other methods to solve their problems in a hurry. War causes more problems.... war usually does not solve problems!

7 years of rebuilding Germany and 11 years rebuilding Japan
plus 5 or so of fighting the war
USA wasn't in from the start
Thats only because the democrats were not such cowards as they are now unwilling to finish the job in Iraq

For which country? Different countries fought for different periods of time. Britain about 2000 days, France about 15 minutes.

The German reoccupation of the Rhineland in 1936 became on mirrored image the first and perfect danger the League of countries had to envision Hitler i.e. by creating use of him decrease back contained in the borders agreed at Versailles. He afterwards admitted that this may were really basic and Churchill later maintained that this may were the instant to act. although, Clemencau became unable to acquire the approval of Stanley Baldwin, who became distracted by the 'abdication disaster', for a mixed Anglo-French operation and wasn't prepared to bypass it on my own. to that end Hitler concluded that the League does no longer implement the Versailles Treaty inspite of the actuality that he did. surely he became shocked even as the Allies declared conflict in September 1939 as he idea they were too spineless to react to his invasion of Poland.
