Its not that Non Christians should not comment about the bible; of course they "can". I just don't think they should represent it as thought they are a "Christian". Remember, the question is based on the assumption that they aren't a "Christian".
As a protestant seminary graduate, it always amazes me to watch the history channel and see people talk about the bible as though they understood the Christian perspective and yet they have no clue. And that's accounting for knowing the different denominational differences. An "expert" who really isn't an expert is what is offensive to me.
An example is a older friend of mine who says he is a "catholic" but hasn't been to church in 30 years and argues with me about what the bible says, and then admits he has never even read the bible, doesn't own a bible and never even opened it up in his entire life. So while I have a degree in this stuff, he thinks he's an authoritative expert. Its a joke; you shouldn't argue about what the bible says and never even have looked at the text.
Should a non-Christian argue about it? I think everyone should wrestle with the truths of the Bible to at the very least consider its claims; and if someone wants to argue things, let them argue, at least they are getting into the Bible and tossing the ideas around.
As for arguing, I'm not sure I'm a fan of arguing. I assume we mean discuss or debate and not the debasing kind of argument that doesn't do anyone any good.

Non-Christians definitely have a right to comment about the bible, argue points about religions, etc. Restraining this would be hypocritical to the freedoms we want.

Why not, you may "win" some of us over from the "dark side". i mean look at romans 1:14 "I must help the people who have had a chance to hear the Good News and those who have not. I must help those with much learning and those who have never learned from books." (see I know how to use a bible)
EDIT: OLDGUY63 try Exodus 20:13 “You must not murder."

should christians comment/argue about other religions books, especially ones they have no clue about. i know enough atheists who know the bible better than most christians. just because we pick on it, doesn't mean we don't understand it. we may even understand it better than christians. our problem with faith is we don't want the canned christian answer of, "because it is god's will."

Argue? No. It becomes a controversary and usually fruitless. I have gotten in many debates and felt yucky afterwards- so now I know why God tells us this:
1 Timothy 6:4
he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,
2 Timothy 2:23
Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.
2 Timothy 2:24
And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,
-You can discuss biblical things of course! And that is good! But when it leads to an argument, that is not good.

I think we all have the right to make statements but my personal experience on YA leads me to believe that most non Christians have absolutly no idea what the Bible even says. How many hundreds of times do non christian come on here and say "The bible says thou shalt not kill... " They just never clue in, no matter how many times you tell them, that the Bible doesn't say that. That is just one example, but they really are clueless as to what the Bible does say. If they want to challange me on what the Bible says I really respect that, but it is irritating when they misquote the Bible and then use their misquote like it is the "gospel truth".

No, they should not argue the facts in the bible they are supposed to enspire converts and not contradict their beleifs. In the bible, God said his spirit is everywhere so therefore it is not a matter of arguing it is a matter of following the ways of Jesus.

If they want to, no problem. If it pushes them to actually read it, all the better.
They have as much right to discuss the bible as we Christians do.
