You have to stand your ground and remind her that she gave up her rights the day you got married to your wife. Mother in law must learn to leave so that you two can cleave. My suggestion is that you find a job in another place far from her. If she is meddlesome, confront her and tell her that you are not married to her, but to her daughter and that its time to butt out and leave you both to grow through whatever comes your ay. Tell her you appreciate all she has done to prepare her daughter for you and how much you appreciate her efforts, but that now it is your duty to see to her daughter and to provide and care for her and that you will do the best that you can for her, because you love her. Smear some jam on the bread. It works like a bomb and then honor that too. be a man of your word! Treat your lady like a queen.

If you will always consider your mom in-law as an enemy, and always find fault in everything she does...then for sure you really want to get rid of her....but...if you will be patient, learn to love ,understand and give due respect she deserves as your mother in-law then there is a chance that you will live harmoniously together. "What ever you sow now...you will surely reap tomorrow". If you want your future daughter/ son in law treat you kindly someday then... treat your mother in-law nicely today. Come on...give yourself and your mother in-law a chance.

You can't. Unfortunatly you married her daughter so you're stuck with her family. All you can do is try to get along. Tough sometimes I know, I've been married for six years now.

Suggestion, to keep visits at a minimum, buy a pet snake.
Most mother -in-laws HATE them. Also, snakes make great pets.
No fur to shed, no walking, no house training, they don't eat a lot.
Also, if your wife/husband says its the snake or me....well you know they never loved you anyway....
