Many countries have bamboo. Other than China, temperate areas can have bamboo growing. I am from Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean and we have lots of bamboo. The island of St. Lucia has bamboo as its official national plant. Check source for more details on bamboo locations

Its a tropical plant so all the countries have that type of a climate will have bamboo.

I know for a fact that you can find bamboo in the forests of trinidad...hope that helps you...
