You could get them an iMemoryBook. Not expensive and very memorable.

Is the gift being sent before Christmas? If they celebrate Christmas, how about a "our first Christmas" type of ornament. They are about $10 (www.hallmark.com).
If not, perhaps a wedding picture frame? www.kohls.com has some beautiful wedding frames for under $10 on sale. or go to a craft store such as michaels or AC Moore and see if you can find a wedding themed frame there.
Both of those gifts would go with the "home" theme of the home improvement gift card too! I'm getting married next year and I would be thrilled to get either one of those items. I wouldn't even need the gift card too :)

Take your favorite recipe, hand-write it onto a beautiful sheet of stationery and then get all the ingredients used in the recipe and put it all into an inexpensive bowl or casserole dish. Wrap the whole thing in a big sheet of plastic (you can get a piece at the florist) and tie it up with a ribbon. This is personal and shows that you put thought and effort into the gift. They will definitely appreciate it and will always think of you when they make that dish!

I once got a pressed 4-leaf clover inside a birthday card. For some reason I really loved that.
I guess the sender found it at some gift shop or other, though I really can't advise you as to where to get one.

I give my closest people much more than $100. If this is just a friend you know, $50 is plenty. You also won't get to benefit from the dinner and party, so $100 is too much.
