Back off Dude! I was stationed in Germany when the Cold War was in full swing! The German people were Kind and Hospitable to this young GI. More hospitable than the French Canadians who are right next door to my Country. Funny, My father who just turned 90 and fought in WWII said the same thing about when he fought his way into Germany in WWII. He said the average German citizen hated Hitler, but could do nothing about it and Germany's soldiers had no choice but to fight, just as any other country's soldiers, it was their duty to do so. While fighting all the way through France and watching his buddies die all along the way, he was appalled at the way the average French citizen treated the GI's, Mostly ignoring them. All the hype you see the French giving the GI's is media BS according to my father, who was there in the thick of it. The only time the GI's got any reaction from the French was when they put French troops in front of the Americans during parades. With the Berlin wall coming down, I say leave Germany alone, they have enough work to do without having to fight in another country, but they are in Afganistan anyway, so hows that for you. Whats really funny is, if you watch the old news reels, and read the old newspapers, all the same conversations about how the US. should not be involved in a war on foriegn soil were said in 1918 and 1941. Good thing the US didn't listen then, or possibly half the world would be converted to Nazism by now. I think it's pretty funny that the US. does it's best work by NOT listening to the rest of the world.

You are way out of line so far they have lost 18 troops in Afghanistan and are now in overall command of all NATO troops in Afghanistan. The problems they are running into has more to do with European countries having no real offensive forces. These cost money which is something the Europeans are loathe to do. As for your rant against the French get over it already this stupid smear campaign is really getting old. They to are fighting in Afghanistan and dying is this not enough for you! Did it ever occur to you that these small countries have lots of other demands other than cleaning up Bush's mess. Can we say Kissoff,Bosnia,Algeria and various African toilets that try to pass themselves off as countries. No I didn't think so you too fragging selfish and short sighted to consider what other peoples commitments are.

I find your attitude sickening and offensive - you are arrogant, racist, narrow minded and obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about, or you would realise that the average German has absolutely no power what so ever over what they do or don't do in Afghanistan, just the same as every other member of the amed forces, what ever country they come from. It is the leaders of the countries who make these choices, not the people you are so unfairly having a go at.

I really think you need to get a life matey, if you look at the governments of these countries you will see that they are forced to go by the likes of U.S.Aand Britain, if they don't go they loose several trade agreements, please don't blame the Germans, they have a better life, live in a cleaner country, they are more self sufficient than we [ the British] will ever be. Don't get involved in things you obviously know jack **** about. Run along now and watch the Simpson's, there's a good lad.

Until quite recently Germany weren't allowed to do manoeuvres outside their own country. So give them a break, they need to test the water first.
