Maybe he didn't hear you, was tired or was in a bad mood.

he has just got really poor interpersonal skills, that's all. Don't worry about the guy.
Part of working is being able to handle your boss! Eventually you will work out what makes him tick. Remember, it's not your problem IT IS ONLY A JOB.
I have been continuoulsy employed since 1972 and looking back on it, every boss I have ever had, has had a disgustingly disfunctional personality in one way or another. . But I learned how to deal with all of them. That's what work is, after all.
I think maybe you are a little uncomfortable with older, "father figure" type men and don't know how to handle them - yet. I hope you don't mind me saying this.
And remember- work and romance do NOT mix- it's a recipe for disaster!!

This question doesn't relate to your other questions except for the fact that it's about the same person. As for why he says "cya or goodbye" one night and doesn't another night, he's probably just moody.
Maybe he's just weird since he has the tendency to stare.

Maybe your boss does want to do you, but that is probably it ?
He would like to have his wicked way with you , and is looking for something on a physical level and not on an emotional long term basis.

With bosses you only speak when you are spoken to. It gives them a sense of control and superiority. Appear to panic whenever you see your boss. It is good for his sociology and psychology. It is also good for his/her need to protect you seeing that you suffer from too much boss respect.
The boss must say Good bye to you first in every case. Never you first.
The only thing you say first is "Do you need anything from the canteen?"

Men aren't as aware of certain emotional surroundings as women are. They're not wired to observe life with a high degree of feminine perspective as we are, ie; saying hi and bye every time, or remembering anniversaries..etc. When they stare at you they are fantasizing sexually. We fantasize romance and flowers; they fantasize about getting some. Such is life. Took me a long time to realize that little fact and now you know their secrets....they're a tad shallow.

Chances are your boss has a thing for you but is trying to restrain himself. If this makes you uncomfortable, talk to his superior. If you're cool with it, let him know that you appreciate his attention, but are not interested in a workplace romance.

Your boss has feelings for you - but he's afraid to act out on them, because you're his subordinate and he's really not supposed to date his employees (even if he really wants to - which apparently he does)
