I've heard that it is best to eat half an hour after the work out, but I'm not sure.... Any suggestions?

I think it really depends. I would probably ask a personal trainer this question. From my personal experience, I eat something light before I work out. Like half a penut butter sandwich, and drink a glass or two of water, so I have some energy to burn while I'm working out. I hate feeling like I'm starving while I'm working out so I like to eat something before hand. Now, if you DO want to eat something afterwards, it's best to eat some lean, red meat, so that you get protien and iron in your system to help your muscles bounce back from working out.

The only time I don't eat before I work out is when I go to the gym early.... like 5:30 AM early.... simply because I am not a morning person and the last thing I want to do is focus on eating as well trying to work out, too.

Good luck!

I hour after your work out, drink water during your work out, the best is to have some fruit juice before work out to fuel up your body with easy burn carbs. And have protein shake after work our to recover your damaged muscle system.

Half an hour is the right thing to do, yes... unless you can't do it.... but if you can, that's the best time to both give you energy and not make you too full up be4 you start exercising.

If you feel fine eating straight away then I don't see any reason why you shouldn't. I have a thick fruit smoothie after my workouts till I can get home. Keeps me going.

I'd say have a light snack before your work out, drink some water, and have your meal after wards.
