I would go see a professonal, just so you don't end up damaging your hair.

If you don't pre-lighten with a bleach like Blondissima, you will likely retain some brassy tones. Boxed haircolour doesn't contain enough 'lightener' in it to really achieve the right shade from a darker haircolour. My other tip is, after you pre-lighten with a bleach, use a shade that has an ash tone in it as opposed to a golden tone. The ash cancels out any brassiness or orange.

Best of luck!

I would not take a chance because more than likely your hair will turn orange/ brassy. Alot of the box lighteners are not strong enough to lift to the level you want. It turned my hair orange ( iahve dark blonde hair as well) and I left it on plenty long enough. It just wouldn't lift my hair past a certain color, orange.

Be really careful and really sure you want to do it!

Check with the cosmetician at the drug store for the best out of the box colour for you...you need a really good permanent hair colour and tons of conditioning...also be prepared to keep on top of your root situation as this can look trashy really fast without the right amount of upkeep!

I am redhead and I use Tahitian Blonde by Hydrience, which makes me a true strawberry blonde...people think it is my natural colour...

I'd advise you didn't!! As to achieve blonde hair the tint uses a very high peroxide!! And if you where to now buy a blonde tint at a shop (Which would probanly contain 12% peroxide) and put it on your hair you'd be going over the already coloured hair you have!! High peroxide on high peroxide could cause your hair to brak or at least cause some damage!! If you want to go blonder get a stylist to give you thickly woven foils, in doing that they can avoid the areas already coloured and the result is stunning too! Good Luck!

See a proffesional (I know I spelt that wrong), even if your hair turns out blonde from a box, it will look MUCH better if you go to a salon. It's worth the money!

Yes it probably will, it did with me, and I have tried many many different products. The one that worked the best was when I got a home bleach kit and I bleached my hair and then I got a nice blonde shade and dyed my hair with that nice blond, and tud duh it was perfect blonde.
Good luck, but no matter what, it will look great!
