We don't know whether to call the complex office (courtesy officer) or write them a note. We've never spoken with them. But the banging sounds like they are building a barn - it's so loud!!! We don't hear them, just the banging of the headboard. What to do? We are very non-confrontational people.

Talk to the manager; that's his job to handle complaints. If that doesn't work, bang back!

I would go next door and in a very nice way tell them what works for me is placing several pillows behind the headboard. They should get the hint.

Blare the most non-sexual music towards the wall in which they're "doing the deed." Country or Bluegrass would work, even something like Raffi, or Barney.

In all seriousness, talk to your landlord. You're not the only person with this problem, all it would take is them to move their bed away from the wall 2 inches. If you're not comfortable asking, the landlord will.

they keep you up all night?

Good for them!! Not many guys have that kind of stamina.

If you don't want to cause a problem, go directly to them and state exactly what the problem is. Maybe they can change their bedroom layout so that the headboard isn't against the connecting wall.

Maybe you should spend less time worrying about hearing your neighbor have sex with her husband, and more time having sex with YOURS. If you and your man were busy having sex, you wouldn't be able to hear their headboard banging (cause yours would be banging too!)

Good neighbors learn to mind their business!

Go round and tell them their headboard is banging on the wall and waking you up - no need to mention the sex and if they have any consideration they'll move it. If that doesn't work you'll have to complain to a third party.

I agree with pagan earthgirl. Maybe that couple thinks no one can hear them. I'm sure if you applaud, they might get embarrassed and keep their intimate moments quiet or move their bed to a wall that's not a shared wall.

next time you see them ask them where the newly built barn is that they have been working so hard on every night. Or, you could get the karaoke out and sing along--"BANG YOUR HEAD (board), BANG YOUR HEAD (board)...
if they don't get the hint after these- I suggest you move.

Next time, after they have finished, applaud and cheer very loudly. Or, go knock on the door with a couple of cigarettes and a warm towel. They will get the hint.

Just a short note, since you dont feel comfortable talking to them. Something like, the walls are very thin here. I hope we are not being to loud, as we hear most everything in our place. Thanks in advance for your understanding.
