This isn't spam...check out the website www.prosper.com. it is a person to person "bypass the bank" loan program where people who need to borrow money get paired up with people who wish to lend money. Of course you pay higher interest if you have poor credit but you get to avoid the broken thumbs ( I think).

J.P.; you don't really want to find a loan "shark". as it will be impossible to ever pay them what they demand in interest for the loan and pay the loan at the same time. In the old days, a loan shark will break your legs if you don't repay him double the loan in a week or so. Maybe times have changed, but by not much. Try relatives, or pawn things, and if you have a job, try check casher loan services who let you give them a post dated check for a loan, but be aware that you have to come up with the money in a short period of time, or you are still in trouble. There is no easy answer. Good luck, though.

There has got to be a better way. You will regret going down that road.
But if you must, ask your friends that you know gamble on football. Have them put you in touch with the bookie.
You will not like the terms and it is dangerous if you default on these types of loans. But if you want to find a loan shark that is how you do it.

I agree with Aaron, try Prosper.com, it's probably the only legitimate way to get a loan without going to a bank...and a loan shark.

Well while I don't recommend this AT ALL if there's no other way out, try asking around the town. If it's small that means you're more likely to find the right person. Just be careful who you ask you don't want everyone knowing what you're doing.
