Knowing the type of headache or cause helps, so that you can reverse the situation. For instance, if you are stressed, lying down or taking a break from what is stressing you can relieve the tension headache. Going for a good walk can help. If it is from dehydration, you try drinking a few glasses of water and you increase your general intake of fluids. You may need your vision or your sinuses checked out as both of these can cause headaches. Good luck.

If you don't want to take anything at all then soaking a face cloth in cool water and laying it on your forehead helps. You can buy those rub on sticks from pharmacies which rub onto your temples to help headaches. You can turn off the lights and stay in a dark quiet room and drink loads of room temperature water, it should pass soon. Massage the temples slowly.

Perhaps finding out what is causing them, then having it treated, would be a good idea. Treating the symptom will not prevent them from returning. Anyone with headaches will usually reveal a postural problem, though you may not be consciously aware of it. The body's ability to adapt to conditions, is extremely effective.
If you press at the base of the skull you will realize what I refer to.. You will find it quite tender on one side. Indicating that muscle attachment is sensitive because of the strain it is under. Just to keep your head from falling to the side.
Would suggest you contact a doctor of Chiropractic and get an evaluation of your status.

Sometimes, just lying quietly with a cold towel across your forehead could give you some relief.
Stay away from a lot of noise and turn off the TV. Radio, DVD, and CD player. If you have children, let someone watch them for a while. Turn the telephone
ring down.
This complete silence should soothe you and soon you will drift off into
a restful sleep

Last time I read the directions on the medicine, it said, "Take two tablets and keep away from children" If you don't want to take two tablets, then just do the second part, keep away from children. That alone should reduce your headache.

Headache is often caused by dehydration. Drink lots of water and it should go away. If that doesn't work try putting a dab of lavender essential oil on your forehead - the bit between your eyes .Massaging that area helps too.

Sit cross legged with a straigh but not rigid back and take deep slow breaths through your nose, using the stomach muscles around the navel to force out air on the exhale. Don't get dizzy or try to breathe faster or slower than you would normally.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Those strips that you peel the back off and stick to your forehead are brilliant. They feel cool on your head for hours! I went through hundreds of the slippery little suckers when I was pregnant! They're brilliant!!
