i'm not sure the treatment of eating disorders, but i have been hospitalized (in a psychiatric facility) more than once.....i have never stayed anywhere that i couldn't make or recieve phone calls....and you should be able to get mail (they will undoubtedly open it for you first or have you open it in front of them)...you're not likely to have computer access....i would call ahead of time and find out the rules and regulations and what you are, and are not allowed to bring....stay strong and get well

Calm down sweetie, It will be okay, you are suffering from an eating disorder, not Suicide.
You will be able to read, and write, and enjoy activities.
If someone cares about you enough to help with an eating problem, then you certainly will have visitors.
Every hospital is different, so i don't know about the computer, but you will still have contact with your family and friends.
While you are there, think of this, You are going to see some deeply disturbed people, you are more stable then them, so try and use this to your advantage, try and help some people while your in there. Shed some light, it will help you also.
It will be okay. I promise, and if you can use computers, feel free to email me.

if you do not eat when they feed you then you will be put on feeding tubes to make you eat. and if you try to throw up. They will watch you to see how you progress and just keep track of your eating habbits. You will see a physcologist to see why you are doing this and just to talk about things that you may not be able to talk about with others. THIS will be good thing for you.
Im sure you will be able to see your family friends bc that is encourging. DO what they say so you can get better. I am glad you are getting help with this problem.
good luck

ANA? What's that? You aren't going to jail or being punished. Of course you'll see family and talk to people on the phone. As long as it doesn't interfere with your treatment. If you fight the doctors/nurses, refuse to eat.....you'll just be making it much harder on yourself. They could put in feeding tubes and restrain you. You need to have the right attitude or you won't get any better. Do you WANT to get better?

I can't say from experience but bulimia is a eating disorder there's no reason you should be kept from computers and phones and friends, etc... Tubes? I doubt it but expect them to watch you like a HAWK when ever you eat, have eaten, or any other time really. It's probably more like close observation than anything else
