I think it is actually, I can never understand how England; being an island - a very wet and miserable island, can have a drought. Surely it can't be our fault that our councils aren't collecting enough water or that they are building more houses then the water can take. They must benefit out of this somehow.
I asked a question earlier about how we are all being told we are fat when really we aren't (my boyfriend was told he was obese and he has a waist size of 34" but it's that BMI thing) and I reckon the government must be making money somehow by telling us we are too fat. But I asked it in the health site and I don't think they understood the question!

"Global warming" is a political trick simiar to the one Columbus pulled on the unsuspecting natives when he was exploring the Caribbean area. His ships ran out of food and fresh water, and they pulled in to ask the natives for supplies. The natives didn't like them, so Columbus' men wated to shoot the natives and take what they wanted. But Columbus was sly. He said, Let's wait a week and ask again."
A week later, the natives still refused. Then Columbus told them, "If you don't give us what we want, I'm going to make the sun vanish." And they laughed at him. That afternoon, there was a solar eclipse. Of course, Columbus KNEW it was coming!
But the poor natives were scared out of their wits! They begged him to make the sun come back, and he said, "All right, but if you don't provide us with the things we need, the sun will go away again, and THIS time, I'll never bring it back!"
Naturally, the poor ignorant savages caved in on the spot and gave the stinking conqustadores everything they wanted.
It's the same thing today. Al Gore failed in his bid to become President. So he is filling up everybody with this scare-story about global warming, He KNOWS it's a perfectly natural phenomenon, and not caused by man made pollution.
But this way, if global warming eases, it is Al Gore who will be famous down through the centuries instead of George Bush, because people 'listened to him in time'. And if global warming gets worse, Al Gore will have succeede in blackening George Bush's reputation even long after they are dead and gone, because his descendants will say "He TRIED to warn you, but you listened to George Bush instead!"
So he has set up a "Heads, I win; tails, you lose" situation. I scolded Al Gore for this transparent (and, rather shoddy!) political trick, when he asked his famous question as to what we can do about global warming some time ago here on Answers. But he didn't reply. I suppose his staff screened the replies so that he only saw those who answered favorably to him.
(Kind of the same way Kim Il Jong of North Korea is surrounded by sycophants who tell him he is right all the time.)
Global warming actually exists, but it is not caused by anything man made. At some time in the next hundred years, we may have to move our major cities fifty miles inland or so. If it gets warm enough to do that, there is nothing that we can do to prevent it.
What I am afraid of is that we will move our cities ten miles, then have them almost swallowed up as the seas rise, then move them another ten miles and have them almost swallowed again-- taking half-measures by wasting our time, money and energy flattering ourselves by trying to prevent the warming we thought we caused --instead of dealing to the problem itself.
In my previous Best Answers on the topic, I have discussed the causes of global warming (the Sun) and listed the scientific evidences for it (observable changes on the Moon and Mars).
That is scientific evidence, not statistics, which are man made and fallible. Rather than cutting and pasting those answers all over again, you are welcome to look them up. They were about three or four months ago.

no, it's not a tax scam. Global warming is real. You can't find a single legitimate scientist out there who would deny that. If we don't do something about it...and quickly...we won't have ANY taxes. We won't even have a planet to live on. Save the Planet!!!!
