ok i do agree with gradually taking them out... but Clinton had a good point when he said that out there is beginning to look like a civil war.... also i think that people need to remember that Bush knew about the attacks almost a year before they happened and just ignored them... thats pretty crapy of him to just ignore somthing like that.... i think thats what makes me madder than anything else he does.... i dont mean to sound like a B*tch but its just irritating when people in my family have almost died over something that could have been stopped and alot of innoscent people did die cuz of something that could have been stopped 5 years ago....

Eeeek! As an outsider I'm going to wade in...walkin on egg shells though it be.
I know there are alot of feelings regarding the war in Iraq. But it's just not Iraq. It's pretty much the middle east. There's Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq....me oh my.
Now, I believe every country has a right to govern itself and America should not be the world's enforcer so to speak, but ......
Saddam Hussein was a threat to the free world. Osam Bin Psycho is a threat to the free world. It's easier to stick our heads in the sand and say, well it's over there so why worry about it.
The reality is that these nuts hate the US. Why? My guess...Jealousy. The have's, the have not's. The sane, the not so much.
Do you really believe that leaving these fundamentalists alone will make them leave the US alone? No way. They'll keep coming. Keep recruiting. Then hit you again. Hussein financed idiots like bin psycho. I truly believe that. And I think Iran is helpin him out too. That's why he hasn't been found.
Not only does the US need to see this through, NATO countries need to step up to the plate and help more than they are. Because if the US falls or is terribly injured, the rest of us so called "free" countries are in big trouble. Reality check. I'm Canadian. I support what's going on, and I support the US troops and my troops in Afghanistan 100%.
I just wish my government put more funding into our Military instead of every special interest group that comes along. There's no way we could protect our own borders if necessary. Not through fault of our troops, but from the ancient crap they have to work with. We need you guys. Take pride in the fact that at least your government is trying to protect the free world. Even if mistakes are made along the way.

'pulling out would only show the muslims we cant stay and fight a war" "lets not cut and run"
What kind of thinking is this?
We won the war!
We blew the crap out of Saddam, and look where he is now
We won the war, but are losing the peacekeeping mission!
Bush is the one playing puppet master here, conceiving this"cut and run" mentality
We came we saw we conquered, and anyone else who plots against Ameicans on american soil will get what Iraq got, and what Osama is running from.
Done deal.
There is no more war to fight in IRAQ.
Its Iraqs concern now.
I say one final deployment, increasing troop numbers for a few months .about 6. Just enough to train the Iraqi soldiers.
thats what American Infantrymen get 6 months training.
In that time, we strike hard.
Whichopens up another front, with regards to IRAN and Syria.
If ties are made that show they both are in fact training and funding the death squads that sneak over the border and create civil unrest, then immediate repurcussions should befall them, from the U.N.No way around that.
We are digging too much of a hole for ourself when we say we're there to bring about a new peace, and we allow Iran and Syria to get away with undermining our efforts.
you cant let that go!
6 months retraining, and 6 months activation for the newly trained soldiers, with a gradual 6 month troop withdrawal of our soldiers AND a word of warning to Syria and Iran -- they will be held accountable should they attmept to cause unrest.
thats it. theres no other way around it.
We either get to the point and solve the problem at hand, and deal with those that are causing kaos, or its all pretense.
But the question is -- does someone really want to solve the problem at hand.

Think ahead a little bit and don't let your dislike of the President keep you from seeing possible outcomes to leaving too soon. We leave immediately and what happens? The government in Iraq fails. A huge power vacuum is opened and will be filled most likely by whom? Iran. They move into power and begin tossing nukes at their perceived enemies. And the possibility of WW3 really comes into focus as a possibility. We need to not only stick this out to the end, but ramp up the pressure on the radicals and insurgents, lock down the borders until things are finished being built. And believe it or not, we are doing a lot of good for the citizens in Iraq. Don't believe everything you hear, be discriminating in regard to what you perceive as truth.

Pulling out will only show the radical muslims we are not willing to fight a war.
The liberals and Dems want a withdrawl, some want to cut funding all together. Already they are signing death certificates for Soldiers as doing either of these will bolster insurgance and increase the attacks in Iraq. When you have no funding and/or your troops have been cut in half....you get dead Soldiers.
Guess thats what they wanted right? The crying Americans to have Soldiers out and the actions of several liberal groups have bolstere the insurgance Morale enough...they don't need any more help.

I think pulling troops out gradually would be more helpful than just taking them out all at once. Pulling them out would be bad but keeping them there is also bad so its not really a win-win situation to begin with anyways. I think he should have thought about going into Iraq in the first place a whole lot more and thoroughly before he went in.

I think he is right.
It no longer matters to me why we went to Iraq. What matters now is finishing what we have started.
We go into their country, shake things up and then leave them in shambles? That wouldn't be very American of us now would it?
I have been in favor of the President and this war from the beginning but even if you sit down and think about it what kind of people would we be if we just left?

Last time I saw him, his head was exactly where it is supposed to be.
And pulling troops out would just cause even more violence over there.

To "cut & run" may be for you &your groups way of looking at things, but, truth is, the cowardless way of doing things is to complete & secure the mission.
