A puppy is an expensive, time-consuming commitment that lasts 12 years or more. They need training, exercise, and expensive vet services. Long after the Christmas season is over you will have a puppy in an adult dog's body that will destroy everything in sight, jump on guests, do its business where it pleases, and bounce off the walls. These are natural behaviors that are only curbed by consistent training. As a general rule, the holiday season is not a recommended time of the year to acquire such a demanding pet. After the hustle and bustle of Christmas, hundreds of dogs are ignored and neglected once they're no longer a small, cute puppy.

But if you're seriously interested in getting a dog, do your research. Then perhaps decide on a different time of the year to look for a dog. For a new dog owner, I would recommend getting an adult dog from an animal shelter. Sometimes these dogs already come housetrained.

This a very "cute" but meaningless question. Please don't buy a pet for anyone as a Christmas present. I could write a book on the horror stories that happen to this animals, when the Christmas season is over!

no longer strange in any respect. canines do no longer sweat, and on condition that they are donning a fur COAT for goodness' sakes, giving them a place to "relax" is only humane. you may wager that animals interior the wild circulate in for a swim to relax off whilst it is insanely warm, so why deprive your dogs? (To the maroon that stated go away the rest room open....? How'd you opt to drink that nasty water?)
