1) Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male & female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. Does this apply to Mexicans and Canadians?

2) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or do I ask the police to do it?

3) Lev.21:20 states that I may ! not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle- room here?

4)My Cousin has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse& blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16.

Thanks for your help!

So lemme get this straight, if Jesus said these laws were no more, why do bibles still have the old testament in it? And if the Bible is the word of God, and God is perfect without error, how is it that Jesus says differently?

Hey Sister Steph, why are you being so hateful? It's very unchristian. I'm merely asking a very relevent question.

Whew. That's a bold post, but funny in a very informing way. I see there's a lot of imbeciles that just didn't get that you are pointing out conflicting points in the Bible and in Religion.

Christians must have had their sense of humor removed at the same time when the docs surgically implanted those blinders.

1) Mexicans, yes. Canadians are too lazy to be good slaves.

2) The police should be called in for this job.

3) As long as your defective sight is corrected, you may approach.

4) No, just get some young men with strong and accurate arms.

To understand and interpret Jewish Law, you must consult with the Priests and the High Priest at and in the Jewish Temple on Temple Mount before you take such drastic actions!!

However, you can learn general principles concerning attitude towards the Sabbath, of intermingling, of cursing and blaspheming -- not for how others should live but, rather, for you to guide yourself.

If we accepted the bibles word on every law then we'd be doing nothing but stoning people and putting others to death all day long, and that's just hassle.

Try reading the NEW TESTAMENT_ as in the rest of the Bible. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. These rules were establised due to the fact the Messiah had not presented HIMSELF on earth then. They served as guidelines, for people to follow so perhaps they could be saved by following these rules. One thing alone will save you now accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior.

No. To all.

Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament Law. The Levitical Laws are no longer binding. The New Testament is all about Grace.

You really should not have slept through Sunday School.

All of these are in the old testament... so they fall under the old testament law... before Christ "being saved" took a completely different process. Since Jesus has came and pay the price for our sins on Calvary we are nno longer held under the Jewish law. Plus the way you are taking a few of these verses are out of context... you should go back and read more and you will see what they are talking about...

The standard arguement is that these laws no longer apply because of a "new covenant". Yet they still keep the OT anti-homosexuality rant nice and shiny. Go figure.

Ahhh. I understand what you're doing.

You're pointing out hypocrisies in the bible.

People have never done this before to my knowledge, so well done -- you're bound to get a lot of people thinking and questioning their religion.

Those are Old Testament laws, which are not needed after Jesus saved us and brought us Redemption.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.,,,,

And the new commandment, Love thy neighbor as thy self and as I have loved you.

The Old Testament needed to be fulfilled, and Jesus did that.

Peace and God Bless
