If you really love her then wait for her. No one likes to be pressured.

Hi Andy,
I would say that if you feel this way you do about her, then clearly you like her a great deal!.
Even though she has been through a difficult past, she will come to terms with this and if she feels anything in return for you, then this is a good sign that she is ready to move on and hopefully want to be with you.
Perhaps she is not entirely sure of how you feel for her and so letting her know will get things out into the open with her and then take things from there, but to go gentley and not rush into anything too soon. Love gradually builds itself over time and having some fun together is the best way of building that.
Just be patient with her need to trust, but given the fact that she does really like you says a great deal about how she sees you and as more than as a best friend. I think it is fantastic that both of you have each other as friends even if nothing ever happens, but it would be really wonderful it could. If she is falling in love, then this is no reason at all why both of you shouldn't start going out dating!
Good luck to you and hope that it all works out for you.

Just take it one day at a time and let it run it's course.... I fell in love with my best friend after being friends for SEVERAL years. We eventually realized we were better friends and really didn't work as a "couple"...we ended up being angry with each other for a while.....but after about a year, we became friends again, but it was never the same.... We are both happily married now to other people. He will always be a friend in my eyes and never someone I dated.... I don't think you should cross the line of friendship.... sorry if this disappoints....

She is hurt and I bet the friendship boundary is there because you have not broken it...or corssed the freindship line. If you are really bold you need to sweep her off her feet. Do something REALLY romantic for her that will suprise her. She won't be able to think of you as just a friend after that. If she says she is falling in love with you than that should give you enough confidence to do it.

You should try to convince her to date you. Dating your best friend is better because you have so much in common. You sound like you really care for her and seem like a very nice guy. Keep pursuing her. I wish you the best.

I think that if you love her, you should wait. I had to wait around for my current boyfriend to dump his girlfriend of 2 months. We unfortuanatly met after they began dating. Now we've been happy for almost 2 months. If you just give her time, she'll come around. And if she does, itll be well worth the wait.
Good Luck

Go on dating with her. Invite her for dinner, go to the movies and games that she likes. Have good sense of humor. Call her on her birthday. Be nice to her. By having this kind of relations you will know each other better. Love cannot be forced, it comes naturally.
