Random Gifts: silly light hearted stuff like a toy or a stuffed animal, just somthing little that reminds you of your boyfriend
Birthday Gifts: if he likes video games... get him new game, somthing a little more expensive, and cater's too what he likes

i'm not a boy but they love video games for their x-box and playstation 2 their expensive though so try a gift certificate for a clothing store ...cologne is also nice

Well, guys are hard to shop for, they might be asking the same question. I think it depends on your guy, but all guys like electronics.
