If the lights are unplugged, she can't get electrocuted. This is the best toy your could have given her, in her mind. Cats sometimes fall and are non the worse for wear. You should be able to get some good photos. Keep a camera handy.
Merry Christmas.

I am assuming you have an artificial tree before I answer your question: Here are a few cat safety holiday tips to help:Do make sure that your tree is firmly placed in a wide-based, heavy stand to prevent if from falling. Fragile ornaments should be kept high up, out of kitty's reach. Try to use unbreakable decorations. If you already have breakable ornaments and can't part with them do put the breakable ones on the top and the unbreakable at the bottom. Anchor Christmas trees to the ceiling or wall to prevent it from falling on your pet. Tape down or cover cords to help avoid shocks. Unplug lights when you not at home. Tinsel and garland is very tempting for your cat to play with and eat,.It can block the intestines. Try to avoid it all together. If you kitten is going to climb the tree she/he will climb the tree. Follow the above safety precautions and your pet should not get hurt. If you are at home while the kitten climbs the tree, unplug the lights and anything electrical and give the kitty a few squirts with the water bottle. You can also invest in the cardboard scratching pad with catnip. You can find these at your local Walmart. I have 2 cats and it has virtually stopped the scratching on furniture. Excellent product! One last cat safety tip: Many holiday plants can lead to health problems: holly, mistletoe, poinsettias and lilies should be kept out of the reach of your pets.

I am having this problem with my two kittens who are now 5 months old. My male cat keeps climbing my tree and sleeping in it and bending the branches. I find that if you tell them off every time you see them near to the tree or attempting to climb it, they will eventually associate the tree with being told off so will leave it alone. This has worked on my female cat but my male is still sneaking in the tree when I am not in the room. But he is learning as when I am in the room, he goes no where near the tree.
Your kitten should be OK just make sure it doesnt start chewing wires or tinsel.

My cats do exactly the same thing and once the christmas tree fell down on top of them! Luckily no cat lives were lost! I would suggest to put orage peel in the tree somewhere because they hate the smell. I haven't tried this myself but I read it in one of my cat books so it might work!

There are some really good sprays out there.Go to Petsmart or Petco and ask for a "no-no spray" to keep your cat out of your tree.
If you don't want to spend the cash, white vinegar in a spray bottle mixed with water. Spray the little tree climber everytime she gets near the tree.Avoid eyes,it can burn. Ground peper under the tree.Orange peels under the tree and up on a couple branches. They hate the smell.Good luck!

Hi you would do great to put her cat scratcher close to tree and play with her. Add a little cat nip to play and move further and further away. The more you play the less she'll climb. Good luck.

Some have already used this answer but it's right - "NO" or whatever the training spary is called from a pet shop or pepper around the base of the tree. Pepper really does work. The hotter the pepper the better.

This is so natural to a kitten that the only way you will stop it is to limit access or take down the tree.

need to put up a barrier so the kitten cant get to the tree although its probably pretty safe . kittens are very curious so you'll have to think about all potential dangers
