can you paint over a textured celing without ruining the texture? Just moved into a new place and the ceiling really needs to be repainted. but it is textured. anybody know??

Wash the paint first with washing up liquid diluted 10 parts water to one part liquid then use a really big soft paint brush or a big hairy roller not to be silly but allow the paint to dry complety before you start.

Yes, but you need a deep pile roller. Go to the paint shop and tell the man what your are doing and he will show you what to use.
I have done it and the type or roller you use makes the job a whole lot easier.
