Work while studying! I know a lot of people who are successful working-students. In fact, I'll be one of those exhausted working students come next year. If you're so bored about your life and are just aching for independence then you have to make things happen yourself. If you don't like the pressure of being a working student and just can't wait, then quit grad school and get a job! Sounds like you were forced into it anyway. You can be successful as long as you LOVE what you're doing (think Bill Gates). A higher degree may help but attitude is what matters most. Self-pitying is fine for releasing your frustrations once in a while. However, you have to be a go-getter if you want change. Or you can just accept your current situation(two years will just whiz by if you're absorbed with what you're studying; before you know it, you have a Master's degree) ...but quit whining about it when you do!

So, you want a job, you want a life outside school. . . and you applied for grad school, got accepted and start next year. Well, it sounds like you are really confused. You made the effort to have the option of spending your time and money to stay in school. . . and you don't want to? What, did you parents make you do it? The first poster was right. . . stuck it up and get your Master's degree or find a job.

My uncle did the same thing, and now he is overqaulified for most of the entry level jobs in his field. He is also finding new and exciting ways to dodge his student loan officers. Sometimes you don't realize you've got enough education until you've got way too much. He was afraid to grow up and enter the real world. Now it's even scarier than if he had got a job after college and went to grad school later if he needed it to advance in his field. Live and learn, I guess.

You should be very proud of yourself because you are finished with school and attending grad school! You shouldn't worry about what other people are doing and you shouldn't feel uncomfortable living with your parents! Your life isn't hopeless! Continue doing what you're doing and it will work out in the long run! Good luck and congragulations on graduating from college!

when you finish you will be ready for a good job and you will get your own place.
don't rush yourself. this is the shortest part of your life. you will never be someone's son or daughter again. enjoy it while you can. living on your own is not all its made out to be. spend the weekends at your friend's places save yourself the rent.
you'll miss the time your in right now

You may feel that way now, but when you are a masters degree and are making good money you'll feel differently.
Hang in there.
