Didn't God say in Ezekial 45:15 that a lamb should be offered for reconciliation?
And one lamb out of the flock, out of two hundred, out of the fat pastures of Israel; for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make reconciliation for them, saith the Lord GOD
Reconciliation implies that there has been a seperation and that some type of atonement must be made to bring the two parties back together.
Isaiah 59:2 tells us that >
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

It is sin that is the need for the reconciliation- and If a lamb is offered for reconciliation, isn't there a possiblity that it is as John said of Jesus in John 1:29
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

I wasn't sure if you only wanted those of Jewish descent to answer your questions, so I decided to give it a go. You are right. The practice of sacrificing a lamb to cover ones sins temporarily atoned for the sins, although never on a permanent basis. Only the blood of the perfect Lamb, Jesus Christ, would be able to cover the sins of mankind once and for all, and then for only those who should choose to accept His perfect gift. He did not come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. What a perfect topic to discuss this wonderful time of year as we celebrate Jesus birth.

What are you trying to say?

John would of course have said that of Jesus, I spect he KNEW about the lamb of reconciliation/sacrifice in Judaism... It doesn't prove anything except that John had read/heard some scripture, possibly even from Jesus.

Hmm...let's see, a lamb is a wooly ruminant that walks on four legs and has cloven hooves. Jesus was a man who walked upright, had 10 toes and did not chew his cud.

Clearly lamb does not equal man.

You pretty much hit on the imagery that God was providing to the Hebrews. Was that a question, or a statement?

its no longer a count of "fairly my G-d does no longer deliver his very own son to be crucified in one among these way". that's particularly elementary. jesus did no longer, in any shape or type, finished all the mandatory prophecies to be the messiah. additionally, he died. super no no. loss of existence before all prophecies performed = no longer messiah. there is not any "2d coming" for the jewish prophecies to be fulfilled. its by surprise, or no cookie. Edit relating to hasse_john: incorrect, damaging. do no longer unfold lies. Jews do no longer settle for jesus because of the fact the messiah because of the fact he did no longer fulfill the prophecies required of the only to be the messiah. its that plan and straightforward. i'm somewhat sorry if early christians figured that writing their very own "prophecies" to make the story of jesus sound extra effectual. the previous testomony is under no circumstances a organic jewish scripture. it replace into needless to say edited via early chrstians to "back up" the words of the hot testomony. do shop in mind that bibles weren't mass produced, and in actuality, no longer each thing in the christian bible replace into agreed upon till the 1st Council of Nicaea in 325 advert. 2d Edit: thank you Nadine, thank you.

In guess then you have no problem explaining these verses right?

"Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin" (Deuteronomy 24:16, II Kings 14:6).

"But everyone will die for his own sin; each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth will be set on edge" (Jeremiah 31:30).

kind of flies in the face of someone dieing for anothers sins.
