I know this sounds gross but I got two calluses on each foot and I've tried calluse remover solution (Dr. Scholls liquid) and they keep coming back! I have one on each outer side of the big toe and one on each metatarsal (and those hurt more when I'm barefoot because I take a dance class). I've sanded them down with a pumice stone but of course that's only a temporary solution because then more dead skin builds up. The liquid stuff almost seemed to work but when it got down to the tender skin it really hurt so I'd stop putting it on thinking that I had gotten rid of the callus but it returned eventually, so that didn't work. I want them gone for good because they look horrible and they do hurt.

See a podiatrist. They can remove them and laser them off. No pain and cheap.

I would go to a doctor. It could be something other than a calluses. I know planters warts can look like calluses and need a different treatment that calluses.

The only way to get rid of them forever is to be extra gental to your feet at all times. Basically inpossible. But I know what kept mine from being so bad when i was dancing was to get them down like you did with the med stuff and then treat my feet with a lotion with high Cocoa Butter content two to three times a day. Basically try to lock in as much moisture as possible. Then keep cleaning them off with the pumice and such.
As I said it didn't et rid of them totally but it kept the painful ugly parts down a lot.

Good Luck

they will come back ( actually brand new ones ) as long as the source of irritation exist ( it's the shoe not the foot that's at fault )

one thing you can try is a product called MOLESKIN it is designed to prevent blisters but will stop callus formation also but better fitting footwear is best

and all professional dancers ( ballet ) have feet that look abused - they are

i have one on the bottom of each big toe but they dont hurt and then i thought i had one on the bottom of each foot and its painful so i went to go get it checked out and to get it removed and it ended up being a plantar wart. i had tried dr scholls callous remover before i went to the doc but that didnt work
so next week im going to get it removed. the doc numbs the area and then scoops it out with a tool. he says it might come back but it depends on the person and the case.
ive read online and also heard from a couple of my friends experiences with warts that they got them freezed away at the docs.
so i would suggest go to a foot doctor and see what he/she thinks.
most likely it might not be a callous like in my case.
good luck
