First curling brush?? like a round brush or one that's electric? either way, you should almost completely dry your hair before attempting to round brush your hair, Never roll the brush all the way from the end to the root, start at the root and roll down, you will get volume and a little flip at the end from a round brush, not complete curls, to see how its done go to a salon and ask for a style, not an up-do just a straight style with volume, ask them to use a round brush they will do what you want, that's how they make money, make sure when you make your appt you ask for someone who can use a round brush well, its a talent not many new stylist can do well, due to the over use of flat iron=laziness.

You cannot curl up your long hair in those brushes when wet. Big mistake. You, with your length, need to dry your hair to nearly completely dry, dab it down with leave-in conditioners, and use the curling brush on the last few inches of your hair... not to the scalp.

when your hair is wet is is a little longer than when dry. so as your hair was drying on the rod it was shrinking and getting tighter. Not a good combo, you should have your hair dry before using any type of curling iron, and be sure to use heat protected products to keep the heat from causing damage and drying out your hair.

I'm not sure you did anything wrong, I don't think they work well with longer hair, or fine hair. I had the same thing happen and had to wait until my son came home to help me get the thing out...ouch!! Also, I don't think I'd use it on wet hair. I think a curling iron works much better, or just a blow dryer

I still haven't figured out curling brushes, that's why I will not use them. I think you can only curl your hair up in it a little bit , not so that all your hair is wrapped around it.
