OK, I have been having this discussion with a friend for about an hour now & wanted some more opinions.
Is it OK to date your child's teacher? If you are both single and interested in each other. If not, it is OK to go out to dinner together? The child is six years old and parents have not been together for years..

Just an FYI, I am not involved as either the teacher or parent.

I must be the odd man out. I don't think it is a good idea. Will a child that age be able to differentiate b/t Mrs. Smith the teacher & Mrs. Smith the girlfriend? What if she stays over one night? Then, what if the other parents find out? Will they cause problems for either person?
The school year will be over soon enough. I am sure that if things are meant to be, another six months will not affect either of them one way or another.

Yes it is. Considering school is going to be out in 6 months, go for it. the child will have a new teacher next year. What's a potential lifetime of happiness compared to 6 months of being low key around the child?

Yes it is ok. This person will only be the teacher for one year. After that the child moves on. It is not a bad idea, I think.

Heck yes...the only issue might be a conflict of interest when it comes to grading...but a 6 year old shouldn't have any issues with grades!

I don't think there's a problem with it as long as no students or parents find out and as long as it doesn't cause problems in the classroom.
