Sometimes, the hole will not close on its own, or not for many, many years. Every has very different skin and healing periods, so its not like there is a magical number you can be given about when this will go away. You may want to see a doctor about different things you can do to repair this bothersome hole.

Its kind of pointless to see a doctor like everyone is telling you to do! my friend had the same problem and she went to her doctor and they didnt do a thing!
her whole is closed up now it took awhile but our conclusion was to leave it out, and try to keep it dry dont start to put neosporin or anything like that untill you can tell when its starting to close! its all amatter of time!
but good luck!

adding to what ron m said, you may want to see a reputable plastic surgeon who specialises on major skin & tissue repairs. to start you may want to contact some people who've been to a plastic surgeon for major facial repairs, e.g. from an auto accident, and are good as new as a result of that surgery.
consult experts and experienced people about what to do to have a successful plastic surgery. yours would be minor as it is just to close a former piercing, but of course you want to act with precaution.
be sure to take a lot of organic vitamin e, c, and a and eat lots of protein while you recover! (well, it's actually good to continue it for the rest of your life as well) i recommend nutrilite. NL/BE: 5787151, IDN: 2474361

you will need to see a dr. and see if they can repair the hole without creating an excessive amount of scar tissue.
