I am sure that there is a law against it out there some where because of animal rights. But in my opinion what no one knows won't hurt them. We all go over the speed limit and it don't matter unless we get caught. I had the same problem. I also live in the country next to a big farm. People would drop unwanted cats off around here. It got to the point that we had farrel cats second and third generation, so they where totally wild and never came in physical contact with humans. It was a big problem a year ago. Lately it has not been a problem, this was after I bought a 22 mag. I am sure the neighbors heard gun shots every now and the coming from the direction of my house. I am not saying that I shot any cats. And there is no evidence that I did. Some how the cats disappeared. I also speed when driving but never got a ticket.

YES!!! Need you ask is it wrong to shoot you for terrorizing the neighborhood ! How can a cat terrorize a neighborhood people do more harm than a cat the cat will keep the pest away the people will bring many pest think about it pick on someone your own size

Hi there again Jason...it would be difficult for anyone be able to distinguish the difference from a stray cat vs. a owned cat who is let outdoors. Even owned cats can be a terror cat. Therefore, shooting the cat could present a problem of ethics. All cats can be destructive to the outdoor native environment as well as a nuisance, however one of the reasons animal control was created was to help assist the trap of strays or uncontrolled pets to minimize the problems. Just something to think about.

Yes it is wrong and inhumane to shoot a stray cat. Suppose the first short doesn't kill it and it runs off, to die a very slow painful death. What if you just injure it? Also pretty sure it would be against the law. You should contact your local animal control; they will come out and set up traps and take care of the cat. If the cat is going to be put down it can be done by a vet in a much gentler, kinder way.

Shooting a stray cat in a rural neighborhood probably wouldn't be a problem, but I wouldn't recommend use of a firearm in an urban setting. And depending on where you live, it may not even be legal.
Instead of shooting the cat, call Animal Control or the Humane Society. They should take care of the problem. If they don't, perhaps set a live trap for the cat and take it in to your local animal shelter.

Anyway, what do you mean by "terrorizing"?! Is it mugging old ladies? Planting car-bombs? Maybe it's wearing a Bush mask and spreading "democracy"? What the eff are you talking about ? It's a CAT, leave it alone.

Don't shoot it. The neighbors may hear the shot,and call the cops. Instead set out a bear trap with some cat food in it.

it is cruel and wrong to shoot ANY living thing that feels pain!
and yes a stray cat feels pain.What it dont know is its terrorizing the neighborhood.its only a cat, put up some flyers and if that dont find it a home call a no kill shelter or the pound!but you should never shoot any animal thats MURDER!

Yes it is very wrong to shoot an animal. If it really bothers you call some professionals in and they will catch the cat and either re home it or reunite it with its owner.

YES!! Wether its a cat, dog, bunny, horse, teenager or anything that is terrorizing your neighborhood, you shouldn't shoot it... There are penalties for doing crap like that, call the pound... you cant just shoot something because it bothers you.
