17 with a parents consent

I joined on the 360 Delay Program when I was 17 years old with my parents consent. At that point I had not graduated highschool but was still attending school. Before I went to basic training I was with an Army National Guard unit for almost 12months. It was nice as it prepared me for some of what was to come at basic training. I knew the formations, and ranks, and common things for the military (of course the Guard was very lax compared to the actual military LOL). I would say it is not common for students to drop out and join the military as you do eventually have to have a diploma or GED as outlined by previous posts. If you are thinking of joining the delay program is excellent for preparing yourself for your time in the military.

From what I've heard...(don't take it as written in stone; contact a recruiter)
17 for delayed entry w parents' permission. 18 for regular.
You still have to meet all other requirements, including a score a 50 or over of the AFQT if you are a GED candidate.
You will need to pass the GED, but they army will help you prepare for it and pay for the test.
Without the GED, you're a tier III, and probably won't be accepted at all.

You have to be 18 to enlist in the U.S. Armed Forces unless you sign up for the Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP) and you have permission from your parents. In that case, you could sign up at age 17.

WARNING: The Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps require you to have a high school diploma in order to enlist, so if you don't finish high school your only option would be the Army, and even then you'd have to have a GED before they'll accept you.

THE MINIMUM AGE FOR ENTRY INTO THE U.S. MILITARY IS 17, WITH PARENTAL CONSENT. 18 YEARS OLD WITHOUT.
WELL MAYBE NOT COMMON BUT NOT UNHEARD OF EITHER. NOW-A-DAYS, THE MILITARY DOESN'T WANT PEOPLE WITHOUT THEIR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS. IT SHOWS THAT THEY HAVE ENOUGH INTESTINAL FORTITUDE TO STICK WITH THE JOB AND SEE IT THROUGH TO THE END.

17 with parental consent, however no education and you will not get in. even with a ged, there has to be an "open window of recruitment" for people with geds, and that window doesn't open very often, I am speaking only for the Army.

you can go in at age 17 if parents sign but few will take you without HS diploma . Well, maybe the army or national guard will take you as cannon fodder. no sense wasting a good education on somebody just to kill them.
the Air force will not have you.

witha HS diploma, you can enlist at 17 with parental consent.

without a diploma, you must be 18, but your chances of getting go down considerably overall.
