They come in all colors and they are used to put your hair up in a bun. They have a hole in the middle and wire running through it. You put your hair in the middle of it and roll it up or down and fold the ends under./over. My last one broke, it was velvet i think. but I want to buy more and dont know what their called.

I've seen something like that sold as a "zen puzzle" of all things, in import and exotic goods stores. Sure it's supposed to be a toy, but everyone I know uses them to style their hair. It might not be exactly what you're talking about- the one I mean is exposed wire with jewels on it.

gosh, i think they used to sell that on home tv shopping. the name is on the tip of my tongue...i know you can do lots of styles with it. try looking at claires. there is something similar to it called a hairagami. check it out.
