Ok, I understand this is the United States of America. But why are we being called United Statesians? For some reason people think we are trying to claim all of the Americas when we call ourselves Americans. What's the country that pops into your head when you hear someone say they are American? The United States of (America). If that's the case, then Mexicans shouldn't be called Mexicans, they should be called United Statesians as well from the United States of Mexico. Same goes for all the other countries in the Americas. But that's not the case. We are Americans, Mexicans are Mexicans, Brasilians are Brasilians, Canadians are Canadians, and so forth. Pro-Illegals need to figure out something better to attack us with besides these uneducated phrases so we can take them seriously. We've been called Americans since this country declared it's independence from Brittain. So get that into your heads.

Americans are how we from the United States are formally known throughout the world. In my travels to England and Germany I always wrote my nationality as "American". If I had written "United Statesian they would have laughed and asked me to correct it. When Europeans refer to our country they call it "America". No other country seems to have a problem with this but Mexico. The misnomer "United Statesian" comes from the Spanish "estadounidense", an immigration term which replaced "norteamericano" ("North American, another incorrect immigration term for us).

Many Mexicans argue that Mexico is part of the American continent so they have the right to be called American too. Well, they´ll run into problems if they travel out of the country if they put "American" as their nationality instead of "Mexican". If you go to Europe you will never find a French person insisting that you call them "European".

This "United Statesian" ridiculousness is just a result of Mexico´s purported hatred of us, yet hypocrisy in their strive to be more like us by calling themselves Americans too.

the term United Statesian (meaning in spanish Estadounidense)is the stupidest word I have ever heard. Its very offensive. I wouldn't like for Mexicans to be referred to Mexicoians, because it sounds inappropiate. That United Statesian term is used to aggravate us, Americans.

We are Americans, and I am pro.

I say we are Americans because Mexicans are peoples from Los Estados Unidos Mexicanos (the United Mexican States) and are called ONLY Mexicanos. So it is just fair that since we are from the United States of America, that we are called only Americans. But hey! At least they are not calling us Yanks!

How has the term Americans become a bad thing for us.. we have always shared the N, C, and S America continents.... Mexicans call their Country Mexico-and adopted Mexicans... Canadians call their Country Canada and adopted Canadians... we called our country the United States of America and adopted Americans-They aren't calling themselves Americans so what is wrong with us calling ourselves Americans- We are the only one's that even have America in the name of our Country-if it isn't one thing it's another

Um, like it or not, the name has pretty much stuck. The phrase everybody really needs to learn is 'border fence'. And, here's the fun part: The fence doesn't even have to be forever, and if the peeps in Mexico had their thinking caps on straight, they'd be helping build it, because it'll benefit both countries. Good fences DO make good neighbors...

Mmmm, I don't like this term and I think it is rhetoric.....As someone who supports amnesty, I don't support Mexico, reclaiming part of the US, either.....We have to find middle ground in this issue, or it will never be resolved and stop using rhetoric....
