Oo i feel for people like you, so many stylist will tell you that you HAVE to bleach out your hair to get the color you want. If the auburn color you would like to be is more than two levels lighter than black, it is true that you would need to lift your black out, many will say "color remover...aka bleach" is what you need to do, you know the saying once you go black you never go back, well with hair it is true. What i would do is go for a color two levels lighter than black this would be a level 3, ask your stylist. Color can lift color to an extent, using 40 volume on the pre colored hair , DO NOT DO ROOTS with 40 volume mixture, i would assume your roots are lighter than your pre colored hair, so the mixture would have to be mixed with 5 or 10 volume. your stylist should know this, its a longer prosess for your stylist, please dont let them tell you, the only thing you can do is bleach, that means there LAZY. Now if your color you are going for is more than two levels lighter than black and you like your hair not to fell like mush, ask instead of compleatly bleaching out your hair, do a heavy weave, then tone the weaved hair to the color you want. you will have black still in your hair. you will have to go back in a few weeks 6-8 and have it done again, it is a prosses to go lighter once you have gone black, just dont be fooled when people tell you they can get you lighter in one prosses.

Yes. You should always wait at least 6-8 weeks after dying your hair to dye again. However, depending on how dark the color is and what color you are going for, you may need to bleach your hair before dying. Consult your hairdresser before making any decisions. Please do not dye your own hair from a kit from walmart. That is not healthy for your hair at all!

Yes, you can but it will be hard to get the black out of your hair, you should probably go to a salon to have it done.

You went darker last time, so I don't think that should be a problem. You were adding color, not removing it.
